so this week, after fading down the charts the past few weeks at download.com, we have moved back up higher than ever before into 4th position! i can't believe it, but it's true. we had over 300 downloads last week. i think it's due to our stellar review connecting us to the infamous band - Whitesnake. if you missed it, read on down to the previous blog entry.

so the big deal here is that two of the artists ahead of us in the charts are really famous.... i think they should be getting scared. check us out and download all of our songs a few times!!

Accolades and Escalades.

We've finally received an editor's review on download.com, and we think that it is great. The author truly speaks from his/her heart and gives an in depth breakdown of who System Kid really is. I can't do it justice so here it is in it's original text:

This distinct vocal style melds phrases around riffs and chord changes with a phonetic awareness not often found in rock. But that's not all; the band jumps from fuel-injected arena rock to Whitesnake-esque love ballads with the ease and agility of a genuine hair band.

Did you hear that? Whitesnake! That's freaking awesome! To show what the editor meant we thought we'd post a picture of the two to compare:

Whitesnake

System Kid

The resemblance is uncanny! Well, we're totally stoked and would like to thank the editor of download.com for his/her sincerity. Oh, and if you would like to re-live the glory days when Whitesnake was king, we have a link that we think you all will enjoy. Later.

radio edit

yes, that was us on the radio last Wednesday night. the song played was Carry On. the dj picked that one from the six songs on the cd - so it must be good! if you want to hear it - buy our cd :)

the dj (john desantis of x103.9 fm) also mentioned that he will be playing us again next month - so listen in... this time we might try to listen too.

Video Killed The Radio Star

So apparently press kits do pay off. If you were listening to X103.9 on Wednesday night then you may have been witness to the first ever radio airplay of System Kid. That's right, we were featured in the local band spotlight! We're practically famous. I didn't actually hear the song, but my friend did, and he said it was fantastic. Go us!

In other news, we are finishing recording our next EP and are researching venues for future shows.
