all women are crazy

that's my philosophy. i had the day off on Sunday and i wanted to clean up the house. my wife had other ideas - like getting out without the kids, and she proceeded to rip into me with yelling and crying about how she needs to get out. oy vey.

ashdown follow up

now that i've played my amp head a few times i can say that i've made a good choice. there are so many things that this amp just does better than the old one. the tone is so much better and it really punches. you'll have to come to one of our shows to hear it.

steak

finally something worth blogging about. tell me if you agree.

so i go into del taco for lunch today and one of the things i ordered was the carne asada soft taco. the clerk looks at me a bit puzzled. she then proceeds to ask... "you mean the carne asada steak taco?"

uh... yah... the steak steak taco. that's it.

cd packaging

today i approved the artwork that i sent in to be printed on the first official System Kid CD project - Stampede. It should be arriving on the 30th. We ordered 1000 cd's and 300 posters. i can't wait to get it.

it's being printed by discmakers in new jersey. they do a lot of extra stuff for us and it's the 6th project i've used them for. they do a really nice job. i'll post some shots of the final packaging when i get it.

Ashdown ABM 500 EVO II

I received my new bass amp head. It has 575 watts of power and looks really cool. I mainly bought it for it's renowned tone and reliability. My current bass head has had a few problems and that is the last thing I need when playing at a gig somewhere far from home.

I get to hook it up and play on Friday. I'll let you all know what I really think about it after that.

tennis

Last Sunday I went to the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, CA. It is just past Palm Springs. It was the first time I've been to a tennis tournament (not including playing in them). It was really fun and I'll definitely try to go again next year. It was crowded and had a festival type feeling to the tournament.

I got to see Nadal, Hingis and Agassi (my personal favorite) win against their competitors in the main stadium court. Agassi's was by far my favorite match to watch. I always try to catch him when he's on TV in a match, so seeing him in person was really cool.

It was out of character for him, but at one point he got really angry and smashed his raquet onto the ground and broke it. Leighton was surprised, and so was I. Everyone was dead silent during the following point which, when Agassi won it, the crowd erupted in applause. I guess tennis needs it's outbursts too. It makes the game more fun to watch. It makes for more tension.

I miss John McEnroe playing the game. He made it worth watching with his tantrums and yelling, outbursts and name-calling. We need more bad boys in tennis. And bad girls for that matter.

cucamonga valley medical group

i built a web site for a friend of mine and his new medical practice. i will be adding to it over the coming weeks, but the initial site is working fine (on most browsers). the think i don't get is how internet exploder on the PC butchers the site. EVERY OTHER BROWSER WORKS PERFECTLY! damn microsoft and damn the IE team. they suck butt chunks.

i took it upon myself to build a site completely in XHTML and CSS standards (including the occasional MSIE hacks to make it work on that good-for-nothing piece of crap). it was a huge undertaking for me to rethink how i build web sites. i am used to using tables and frames which are pretty old-school. but after using them for so many years, it's hard to wrap your head around a new way of coding. especially since the HTML editors out there have become so visually oriented for design, which is great for a designer like me. i spent a lot of time in code view for this project and i tried to learn a whole lot. i think it really paid off. the site loads incredibly fast and it passed the W3.org test the first try!

not that anyone really cares, but i guess standards can be a good thing. if only M$ would pay attention to them. now i have to figure out how to make it work on the PC version of IE. i wish i could bill M$ hourly for beta testing web site design to work with their browser.

Here is the link to the site: http://www.cvmgdocs.com

sign, signs, everywhere there's signs

there's a sign at the mall that states:

no skateboarding, rollerskating, segways or rollerblading.

i think it's pretty funny that you can bike, walk, jog, run, jet-pack, fly, hang-glide, hot air balloon, scooter, moped, drive... by the way, why can't you drive your segway? the san bernardino county sheriffs do.

the mall absolutely allows 9 passenger vans, hummers, suburbans, excursions, stuff like that. you gotta pay the bills! all the single women passengers driving their bohemoths obviously have money to burn. no, you can't ride skateboards - that's a crime, as the old saying goes. they don't harm the environment enough to be allowed... not like those extra large SUV's. it's not like they're going to make money off you valet parking that skateboard.

i finally put the 2006 tag on my car today. only 4 months late.
