auto-matic

A list of autos I have owned in reverse chronological order of purchase:

2006 Nissan Titan SE Crew Cab 4x2, silver (current)
1993 Subaru Legacy wagon, green/blue (current POS)
1987 Porsche Carrera Targa, white
2002 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, silver
2004 Subaru Legacy GT 25th ann. limited edition wagon, silver
2002 Honda CRV, silver
1973 BMW 2002 coupe, red
1966 Datsun Roadster (SPL-311), orange (currently being restored, will be silver)
2000 Audi A4 Quattro sedan, silver
1998 Honda Civic LX sedan, silver
1995 Subaru Impeza L wagon, dark green
198? Honda Civic sedan, maroon
1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55, orange & white
1975 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, green
1955 Willy's Jeep Wagon w/ Ford 302 V8 motor, red & white
1978 Subaru wagon, shit brown
1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass coupe (yes, a coupe - i know, it was "sporty"), silver

That totals over $157,000 on vehicles just in initial purchase cost, not including maintenance or enhancements. Obviously some of the vehicles were sold before payoff, so that is a balloon number.

That equates to purchasing over 1 car per year of legal driving.

The only car I didn't buy was the first, which was given to me, and the '98 Honda Civic which was Rita's when we were married.

We prefer silver, obviously.

We are about to buy our first "towable" to the list. Finally, something that can't be driven.

it's been a while

let's see. my youngest has turned one year old. i went skydiving. i went on a small vacation to La Jolla over Father's Day. i went on a longer vacation to Carpinteria. no, not Carpeteria, but I did run into Karen Carpenter of the 70's music group The Carpenters. i'm going on another longer vacation to Tahoe in a few weeks. i saw Radiohead at the Greek Theater.

we're probably buying a nissan titan and travel trailer for camping in the near future.

i tore out a bathtub and put in a new one with all new plumbing, so now i am going to learn how to tile a shower. i also totally reorganized my garage and am oh-so-close to getting to build stuff in there.

system kid has over 30,000 plays on myspace, not that myspace is cool or anything. we played at BB King's Blues Club at Universal City Walk. we recorded a new song called "Karate Song" and released it for free on our myspace page and on a self produced bootleg CD that we give away for free at shows. it also includes a new version of "Birthday Suit" and the previously recorded "Fireworks." we also now have our CD available on iTunes, CD Baby, and our site online, as well as at rhino records, amoeba records, and several tower records retail music stores.

that about sums it up. sorry for the lag.
