What was the first concert you attended?

Beastie Boys, in high school.

What was the best concert you have ever experienced?

U2 – front + center. "Where the Streets Have No Name" was magical.

What is your personal theme song?

I’m not sure I have one. I wake up every day with a song in my head. Sometimes it was a song I heard the day before – sometimes not. It’s pretty random, but I like it. I think there’s meaning behind it.

Where is your home town?

Born in Fontana, California, while we lived in Crestline, California, near Lake Arrowhead. I think Truckee (near Lake Tahoe) is really my “home” town. We moved there when I was 3.

How has it left its mark on you?

I have very fond memories in Truckee. I love the idea of Truckee. There is always something fun to do there. The seasons change drastically – beautiful summers and fantastic winters. We had 38 feet of snow there once – you couldn’t see the house. It is where my youngest brother was born with a heart condition. He lived for a short time. We moved away after that, but we still go back regularly.

What was your first instrument? Which instruments do you play?

My first instrument was the piano. I took lessons for four years. I remember playing in front of a person who decided I could be a part of “The Guild.” It seems a bit creepy now. I also play acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass guitar.

When and how did you become interested in music?

I have been interested in music since I can remember. I remember listening to Jim Croce, James Taylor, The Eagles and Phil Collins in my mom and dad’s Datsun 260Z which they had when I was 3. I loved listening to music.

How long have you been playing?

I have been playing music on keyboards and piano since I was four. I started taking music and theory lessons on piano in the third grade.

What else do you do?

Make things, build modern architecture, design, draw, photography, teach... I like to be creative and work with my hands.

What person (people) in your life has most influenced your music?

My dad, my band mates, my family.

What is the most dangerous thing you've ever done?

Climbed a 1200 foot tall rock in Idyllwild, CA with two friends one day. A guy fell on another climb near us and broke a lot of bones. We had to listen to his friend yell all of his injuries out loud to others at the bottom of the rock. They were really bad. It really freaked us out, and we were only half way up the climb. Needless to say, we were very careful after that for the duration of the climb.
