Celine Dion, Michael Bolton.

Probably that one, Radiohead at the Greek, Bjork at the Paladium or Tori Amos at Universal Amphitheatre.

How has it left its mark on you?
I'm intrigued by people in peculiar circumstances and prefer the challenged to the privileged.
What was your first instrument? Which instruments do you play?
Saxophone first. Then piano and guitar. A couple weeks of trumpet and flute.
When and how did you become interested in music? How long have you been playing?
Very early on I'd run around singing along with (the Gershwin opera). Porgy and Bess spinning on Mom's record player.
What else do you do?
Work with kids. Love to be in water, salt or chlorinated. I eat tons of Mexican food and do Yoga. Currently reading Don Quixote and lots of magazines.
What person (people) in your life has most influenced your music?
Don Jaramillo (high school band director), Mom, a couple of folks who've supplied lyric meat.
What is the most dangerous thing you've ever done?
Joy-riding in Compton, at night, when I was 15.
